Welcome to the Blog for the Summer Institute of Technology in Snohomish School District 2010. Each day by 3:00pm I'll post a question here that I'd like you to reflect on and respond to. If you have time, look through and comment on your colleagues comments.
Thanks for putting all this together Karen!
ReplyDeleteI think it is the responsibility of both home and school to be teaching internet safety and ethics. More and more students are using technology on a regular basis and at an earlier age, so I think it should start as soon as students are using computers. It's always helpful from a teacher's standpoint to have guidelines for what to teach, so I think it would be great to have a list of "internet savvy skills" at each grade level so that all students are on the same page.

Today was an interesting day, several times I wanted to throw the computer out the window! Then I took a deep breath and decided to attempt this again. I finally decided that I could touch this, and that it would not blow up! Then when I was learning how to find pictures, links to put on my lessons, that is when I got excited, and was ready to dive in deeper. I am going to master this smart board and I am grateful for the teacher I have! She is awesome! Carly!
